Introduction

“My mate told me that if your bird stands up straight after sex then she won’t get pregnant…” (Male, 14)

Misconceptions like this can make it difficult for young people like you to take care of your sexual health. That’s why it is vital that you have access to good quality information and youth friendly sexual health services.

Sexual Health, Rights and Staying Safe

“I will never go back to one of those clinics. The nurse was so rude and mean to me. Really upset me at the time.” (Female, 18)

However, a recent study by UNICEF UK and the Terrence Higgins Trust, Sexual Health, Rights and Staying Safe, shows that some young people find it difficult to use services or report that visiting a clinic is an intimidating and awkward experience. That’s why we are campaigning for all sexual health services to be youth friendly. Find out more about the report.
